Bring your own old lampshade and learn how to transform it entirely into better than new!  Not only will you take home your own fabulous creation,  but you'll get a thorough grounding into the art of bonded lampshade making (ie: the fabric is bonded to the stiff lining) 

AND the satisfaction of having saved another item from landfill while beautifying your home!

Pre-Approval

BEFORE BOOKING  it's essential to email a pic of your intended makeover project, including its dimenstions (ie: its top and bottom diameters, and height).

You can bring either a drum shape or tapered shape shade.

Your Ticket price will be dependant on the size.  Your options are S, M, L and XL in both drum and tapered.

I'll reply to your email with the correct price option.

When

In this beginner-level workshop there is a min 3/max 8 students so you are guaranteed personal attention.

It is preceded on the same day by the Introduction to Lampshade Making Workshop, so if you want to have a whole day of lampshade luxury, then you're welcome to join in for both workshops (and there's a 5% discount for signing up for both on the same day! Use the Coupon code at the checkout for this workshop only.)

Difficulty

No prior knowlegde, or skills are required. I'll be taking you step by step through each stage of the process - although it is a little fiddly, and can sometimes be messy (see below re. gloves)  - I'll be doing my best to make this as easy and fun as possible!  The size and style of your shade will definitely be a big factor in how difficult it is to transform - but I will advise on this when I receive your emailed pics for confirmation.

What's included

• All the supplies you'll need are included (except fabric*).. this includes professional quality adhesive backings and tools
• Afternoon tea (with homemade yummies) 
• Notes sheet of everything you learnt
• Link to private video detailing the process in real-time

What to bring

• BYO fabric* (see below if you're not sure)
• If you have a pair of sharp fabric scissors please bring them, but no worries if you don't (I have plenty)
• Bring some tight-fitting, stretchy gloves (such as gardening gloves sold in Bunnings.  These are to protect your hands during the stripping-down process)
• an old store, or credit card (not currently in use)

Fabric

• BYO FABRIC: All the info you need re. type and qty will be emailed following booking
• If you'd rather buy fabric here, you can do so on the day with cash - I have a stash of mostly colourful printed fabrics (not many plains I'm afraid!), with prices between $10 and $50 depending on what you choose.  (If you've seen something online here on my website that you love, let me know so I can check availability and advise price).  You'll need to arrive half an hour earlier than the stated start time of 9am in order to complete your purchase before the workshop starts.

What else

• Kits are available to purchase if you'd like to continue your shade-making at home
• Lampshade supplies, and fabrics are also available to purchase on the day

Cancellation 

Due to the difficulties of refilling short-notice vacancies in small-group workshops:

Sorry - No refunds are available for cancellation.

Workshop tickets are fully transferrable, so if you can't make it - it's fine to pass it on to a friend to come instead.

If sickness caused your cancellation, if you can provide a Dr's certificate, a credit will be given for future use towards any of our events or products.
