Hobbysew Figtree, Figtree Grove Shopping Centre 19 Princes Hwy, Figtree NSW

About the event

What

Participants will not only be going home with their own fabulous, unique shade, but will get a thorough grounding into the art of modern lampshade making while having fun with other creatives.  In this workshop you'll be making a drum shape shade (straight sides), suitable for a tablelamp, floorlamp or pendant.

There is no sewing or glueing involved in this method, where the fabric is bonded to a stiff PVC lining.

It's a highly enjoyable (addictive!) craft, and a fabulous way of using up fabric remnants you may already have in your stash.

When

In this beginner-level workshop there is a min 6/max 10 students so you are guaranteed personal attention.

Suitable for ages from 16years.

Where

The location for this workshop is the classroom of the fabulous fabric store HOBBYSEW Figtree, located on the upper level of Figtree Grove Shopping Centre - near central Wollongong.  Easy access with parking right at the door.

Difficulty

  • No prior knowlegde, or skills are required.  I'll be taking you step by step through each stage of the process - and doing my best to make this as easy and fun as possible
  • TIP:  Drum shades are the easiest type to start your shade-making journey!
