About the event

What

Participants will not only be going home with their own fabulous, unique shade, but will get a thorough grounding into the art of bonded* lampshade making while having fun with other creatives.  You can choose to make either a drum shape or tapered shape shade - options shown at checkout.

*Bonded = modern shade-making technique, where the fabric is bonded (laminated) to the stiff PVC lining

When

In this beginner-level workshop there is a min 4/max 8 students so you are guaranteed personal attention

Where

The location for this workshop is the classroom of the fabulous fabric store HOBBYSEW Figtree, located on the upper level of Figtree Grove Shopping Centre - near central Wollongong.  Easy access with parking right at the door.

Difficulty

  • No prior knowlegde, or skills are required.  I'll be taking you step by step through each stage of the process - and doing my best to make this as easy and fun as possible
  • TIP:  Tapered shades are fiddlier than drum shades - so drums are the easiest place to learn!
